Dr. Barroso earned his Bachelor's Degree in the Arts and Sciences from the University of Miami in 1984 graduating with the highest honor of Summa Cum Laude. He obtained his Doctorate Degree in Medicine at the University of Miami in 1988 and then completed a five year General Surgery training program at Rush Presbyterian / St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago in 1993 earning his first board certification in General Surgery. He followed his General Surgery training with a three year fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago in 1996, thus earning his second board certification in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Barroso is part of an exclusive group of plastic surgeons who hold board certifications in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. The completion of two training programs and dual board certification gives Dr. Barroso the fund of knowledge to address from the simplest to the most complex and challenging problems in plastic surgery.
