About Zoe G. Rafaat, MD

As creator and owner of Perfect Face Aesthetic Medicine (PFAM), Dr. Zoe puts her family and her client experience at the forefront of everything she does. Located in the heart of La Jolla, the PFAM Office represents the perfect integration of her family-focused mindset with her passion for people and medicine. With a reception area called the PFAMily Room and treatment rooms named after her and her sisters’ children, Dr. Zoe quite literally brings you into her family and her life with open arms. Dr. Zoe began her journey in medicine as an anesthesiologist who studied at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency at Stanford University in 2010. She then practiced anesthesiology as an officer in the Navy. It was during this time in 2011 when Dr. Zoe began perfecting her craft of injectables and skincare treatments. The birth of her first child, Arrow, in 2014 coincided with the end of her Navy service obligation, where she was then on faculty at the University of California San Diego. It was becoming a mom that changed everything for Dr. Zoe. The thrill of the operating room environment began to wane while her passion for the art of aesthetic medicine grew much stronger. Finally in 2015, the very first PFAM doors opened in La Jolla. For Dr. Zoe, there was no looking back! She no longer practices anesthesia and she has absolutely no regrets about the circuitous path that led her to her ultimate passion. As Zoe’s family grew with the birth of her daughter, Bowie, her business has grown as well. The current PFAM office was created by Dr. Zoe in the summer of 2019, and is home to a total of 3 providers (including her husband, Dr. Karim Rafaat) and five treatment rooms at its current location on Herschel Avenue in La Jolla. Dr. Zoe’s day-to-day goal is simple: she wants you to love what you see in the mirror. With every procedure, she hopes to break through stigmas surrounding aesthetic medicine, and bring positivity and self-acceptance to the industry as a whole. The neighborhood of La Jolla, aside from being a popular tourist destination, contains a thriving, tight-knit community of locals who constantly lift each other up and support each others’ businesses. Through the PFAM product line and services, Dr. Zoe intends to bring a touch of this uplifting community into every one of her clients’ lives.
