About Yulia K. Khan, MD

Yulia Krotova Khan, MD is a board-certified Dermatologist and a Yale trained Mohs Micrographic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Dr. Khan graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2004. She then attended Mayo Medical School on a full scholarship awarded for academic merit. Dr. Khan remained at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for her residency training in Dermatology. Upon completion of her training, Dr. Khan practiced at the Sanford Dermatology and Laser Clinic in Fargo, ND for three years. During her time there, she provided expertise to her patients in all aspects of Dermatology, including general medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, cosmetics, and surgical dermatology. It was during this time that Dr. Khan's passion for Cutaneous Oncology grew to the point that she decided to pursue advanced fellowship training in Mohs and Reconstructive Surgery, in order to provide optimal care for her patients dealing with skin cancer. Dr. Khan was accepted into the highly prestigious Mohs Micrographic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Yale University, in New Haven, CT. At Yale, she trained under the direction of Dr. David Leffell, Professor of Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology. During her fellowship, Dr. Khan cared for over 1000 skin cancer patients, many of whom had extremely rare tumors or other complex medical issues. In addition, she conducted research on a number of skin cancer related-topics. Dr. Khan currently focuses her practice on Cutaneous Oncology, which primarily involves the treatment of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, cutaneous sarcomas, adnexal carcinomas, and other rare tumors. She is also an expert in facial plastic reconstruction following skin cancer removal. Dr. Khan was born in the former Soviet Union and relocated to Phoenix, AZ in 2000. She has always enjoyed warm weather and is looking forward to returning to the Phoenix area and serving the community.
