About William D. Yates, MD
Dr. William D. Yates is a recognized leader in the field of hair loss and one of the premier hair restoration surgeons in the country. He and his team have dedicated themselves to all forms of surgical and topical hair restoration and thickening. Together, they share a true passion for the impact a fuller head of hair can have on one’s appearance, confidence, and quality of life. Dr. Yates has had a passion and drive for excellence his entire career. He graduated with a B.A. in medical science from Northwestern University, and received his M.D. from the 6-year honors program at Northwestern University in Illinois. He completed his surgical internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1986 and general surgery residency in 1990. In 1991, he completed his fellowship in critical care/trauma at the University of Maryland Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. Dr. Yates was awarded a merit position on the Medical Board of Healing Arts, the governing body for all health care providers in the State of Missouri. Also, with great honor he provided the oral board examination for the American Board of Surgery which is only awarded to extremely proficient and skilled surgeons. Dr. Yates specializes in treating men and women of all hair types. He utilizes state-of-the art options, such as PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and stem cell therapy. He’s a national expert, teacher, and author, performing the most minimally invasive hair transplantation technique, FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), and implementing ARTAS robotic technology at his Yates Hair Science Group practice in Chicago, IL. Since he started loosing his hair in his early 20s, Dr. Yates has understood the impact hair loss can have on one’s self-esteem and confidence. He has undergone several hair transplants himself, and he’s been a patient himself for nearly all the techniques he performs in his practice. He’s a true student of the specialty, and is always searching for ways to improve outcomes and results for his patients.
