About Timothy S. Wang, MD

Dr. Wang served for seven years as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery and the ACGME approved Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs) Fellowship program at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore. He specializes in the surgical treatment of skin cancer and is a board certified dermatologist and a two-year American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. Over the years, he has been directly involved in training numerous residents and fellows. Dr. Wang received his medical training at Wayne State University, and completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Michigan where he also completed two years of melanoma specialty training. From 1999-2009, he served on faculty at the University of Michigan as Co-Director of the Cutaneous Surgery Unit and Multidisciplinary Melanoma Program, and Director of the American College of Mohs Surgery and Procedural Dermatology Fellowship Programs. He has lectured widely on the treatment of skin cancer and reconstruction, and has published many journal articles and book chapters. Since 2011, he has served on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Panel helping to write national guidelines for the treatment of Basal cell carcinoma, Squamous cell carcinoma, Melanoma, and rare tumors such as Merkel cell carcinoma, Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. He has been selected in Best Doctors since 2003. Dr. Wang is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Wang is happy and proud to be back in Michigan where he grew up with his wife and two young sons.
