About Timothy D. Santoro, MD
I received my Medical Degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City in 1994. I then obtained my residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where I was recognized for clinical excellence. I attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry with honors, and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. I completed my residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California in Los Angeles. I also completed a fellowship in Microvascular Surgery at UCLA. During that time, I obtained a comprehensive education, instructed by numerous nationally recognized plastic surgeons, and received specialized training in complex reconstructive microsurgical techniques used to treat patients with certain wounds resulting from trauma and cancer. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2003. I have many clinical interests within the field of plastic surgery. My practice includes general plastic and reconstructive surgery, microvascular and hand surgery, and cosmetic surgery. I am particularly interested in breast reconstruction and optimizing the medical experience for those patients suffering from breast cancer. Roles and Responsibilities I have actively participated in many research projects, the results of which have been published in several national plastic surgery journals and presented at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons national meetings.
