About Teris M. Chen, MD

Dr Teris Minsue Chen is MD Anderson Cancer Center trained and has extensive experience in the specialized areas of skin surgery, cancer treatment, wound care, and reconstruction. She completed a prestigious 2-year Procedural Dermatology Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Cosmetic Reconstruction, and Cutaneous Oncology/Melanoma. This is an American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) Fellowship. Dr Chen also completed a 1-year pre-doctoral Fellowship in Pathology. Dr Chen is Board-Certified by the American Board of Dermatology (2006-2026). The eldest daughter of an engineer and daycare teacher, Dr Chen hails from the Dallas area, graduating in the top 1% class of her high school class of 1400+ students. She attended Texas A&M University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with summa cum laude honors and a 4.0-GPA. She went on to study abroad at the London’s King College before entering medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During residency, Dr Chen became one of the Chief Residents at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado in Denver. She scored in the 99th-percentile on her Dermatology In-service training examinations. When she’s not seeing patients, Dr Chen enjoys spending time with her husband and two fur babies (cat brothers Wasabi and Ginga - rhymes with ""ninja""). Her husband is also a surgeon (Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand). Although they love to talk about medicine, Dr Chen and her husband are "super foodies" and are always looking for exciting dining adventures. Dr Chen plays ice hockey, is learning to figure skate, and volunteers with a cat adoption group.
