About Ted J. Heinz, DDS
My entire professional career has been as a private practice dentist. I enjoy helping people and building real relationships in the process. My top priority, with each patient, is to help them improve their dental health and develop a healthier, happier life as a result. Many people don’t realize the affect one’s oral health has on one’s body, or vice versa. By teaching patients about those connections, and encouraging them to make positive changes, I help each lead a better, fuller, happier life. Dentistry is more than fixing teeth and changing smiles: it’s about caring for the whole person. Many of my patients have been with me since I started practicing in 1983. That’s allowed me to form a bond that goes beyond doctor and patient: they are truly my friends. This is what I strive to achieve with my new patients, as well. I do my best to learn who the person is, beyond their dental concerns, and I want them to get to know me, too! Each year I seek out a variety of continuing education (CE) courses. Advancements in dental techniques and technology are happening at a rapid pace and these changes have a marked impact on the care we provide patients. Through CE, I’m able to stay current on developments, evaluating each and deciding which are the best fit for my patients. I take courses through the American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Society. I attend seminars and lectures and have completed numerous online CE courses, too. I was born and raised here in Morton Grove, attending St. Martha Catholic School as a child and Niles West High School as a teen. This area has been home to my family for generations and I’m fortunate and grateful to be part of this community in my professional and personal life. I now live in Des Plaines, where my wife and I bought our first home in 1983. We have five children (three daughters and two sons), two son-in-laws, and five grandkids. If I’m not at the office, you’ll find me spending a lot of time with my grandkids. I also love being out on the golf course, providing the weather cooperates. I enjoy volunteering with the Morton Grove Moose Lodge and was a longtime member of the Morton Grove Lion’s Club. Of course, working on my ’69 Grand Prix takes up a lot of my free time!
