About Tanuj Nakra, MD

Tanuj Nakra, MD, FACS is a double board-certified surgeon (Ophthalmology and Cosmetic Surgery). After specialty training at UCLA, he established a private practice in Southern California. For the past decade, he has been proud to practice at TOC Eye and Face in Austin. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly, Texas Monthly, and Austin Monthly annually since 2012. Dr. Nakra is committed to education and is a Fellowship Director of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He has been an invited keynote speaker at major conferences around the world, training other surgeons in the latest techniques, including his own signature cosmetic procedures. Dr. Nakra has authored over 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has multiple ongoing research projects in the field of reconstructive and cosmetic facial surgery. He is a past president of the Austin Ophthalmological Society, a past board member of the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation, and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Born in London, England, he was educated at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL, and the University of California- Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Nakra’s scientific expertise and vast experience in facial cosmetics led to his co-founding Global Beauty Science Inc., which recently launched its flagship line, AVYA Skincare. Dr. Nakra has many interests outside medicine, including a passion for the fine arts. He also is an accomplished guitar and bass guitar performer. His favorite pastime, however, is spending time with his wife and two children.
