About Sonya S. Jagwani, MD

Dr. Sonya Jagwani is a board-certified dermatologist who joined North Dallas Dermatology Associates in 2012. Dr. Jagwani graduated summa cum laude from Saint Louis University in 2004. She attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2008, graduating with honors. She was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After medical school, Dr. Jagwani completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Evanston Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She then completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She has a passion for teaching and served as Chief Resident for the Department of Dermatology during her final year. Dr. Jagwani’s professional interests include hyperhidrosis, adolescent dermatology, and treating the skin of color. She is also passionate about cosmetic dermatology and strives to help her patients achieve a natural, more youthful appearance. She offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services for her patients. Dr. Jagwani is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and is excited to have made her home in the beautiful city of Dallas. She and her husband enjoy traveling, staying fit, and exploring new restaurants in the city. My goal is to really get my patients involved in their care plan. There are many different options when it comes to treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, etc. I always review all the treatment options with my patients, and we work together to find the one that best fits their lifestyle and expectations. I find that my patients are more compliant and get better results when they understand their options and feel that they have made an informed choice, rather than received an order. Dr. Sonya Jagwani joined NDDA in 2012 after completing her Dermatology residency at the University of Missouri. She was looking for a group practice with colleagues who work well together, constantly learn from each other, and hold the highest standards regarding patient care. She feels so lucky and proud to be a part of the team at NDDA. The physicians at North Dallas Dermatology are vibrant, intelligent, and compassionate women who love their work and truly care about the well being of their patients.
