About Sivakami B. Moorthy, DO
A specialist in treating breast diseases, Dr. Moorthy practices oncoplastic breast surgery, which combines sound oncology principles with plastic surgery techniques. The goal is to obtain wider surgical margins for complete removal of the breast tumor and minimize the risk of recurrence, while still providing the best possible cosmetic results. She performs nipple sparing mastectomy, and participates in a national registry. She was voted by her peers as a “Top Doc” in 2013. One of her passions is to promote international awareness of breast cancer, specifically in countries such as India. Dr. Moorthy is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix and a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California. She has coauthored publications and a book chapter and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. In her spare time she enjoys travelling and playing tennis with her husband and two young sons.
