About Sean G. Boutros, MD

Sean Boutros MD, FACS, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and a pioneer of cosmetic DIEP Flap Breast Augmentation. Dr. Boutros has experience in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, having trained in some of the most prestigious plastic surgery programs in the world. He specializes in Cosmetic DIEP Flap Breast Augmentation, Cosmetic DIEP Flap Augmentation with Breast Lift, Cosmetic DIEP Flap Mommy Makeover, and En Bloc Breast Implant Removal. Dr. Boutros is dedicated to meeting the needs of his patient with skill and compassion. Dr. Boutros is well-known for his extensive experience and research in DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) flap techniques, which have traditionally been used for reconstructive procedures. He has performed more than 3,000 DIEP flap surgeries and his work includes a clinical study of his patients that was the largest study series to report zero cases of flap failure at the time of publication.1 Dr. Boutros also described the Microfacial Incision Technique™, which significantly reduces recovery time for DIEP flap patients. Dr. Boutros realized that there was a need for a new approach to cosmetic breast augmentation because many women are interested in fuller breasts, but would prefer to avoid the placement foreign objects like breast implants. He also encountered patients who had chosen to have breast augmentation with implants, only to struggle with common complications like capsular contracture, infections, and breast implant illness (BIL). Furthermore, with the uncertainty around BIA-ALCL, more patients seek other options for reliable breast enhancement without undue risks. Dr. Boutros developed cosmetic DIEP procedures in order to offer patients the opportunity to meet their aesthetic goals while eliminating any risk of breast implant-related complications. Dr. Boutros is a founding member of My Houston Surgeons, a comprehensive Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Practice. In addition to Cosmetic DIEP Flap procedures, Dr. Boutros also specializes in rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, and craniofacial surgery. He regularly advocates and volunteers his time for children in need of craniosynostosis surgery and other medical care in Houston and abroad.
