About Sathyadeepak Ramesh, MD

Dr. Sathyadeepak (Deepak) Ramesh, MD is board certified by American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS), an elite society of 500 members specializing in cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and face, as well as the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). He is an Assistant Professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College and faculty of the Orbital and Oculofacial Plastic Surgery service at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Sathyadeepak (Deepak) Ramesh grew up in the New England area. After graduating with honors from medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, he completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and UT Southwestern where he developed a deep passion for oculofacial plastic surgery. He was selected to pursue a two-year oculofacial, orbital, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he trained under the auspices of world-class surgeons at UCLA and Beverly Hills. He further pursued specialized training in Asian eyelid and facial contouring surgeries at the BK Cosmetic Hospital and Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Ramesh has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters in topics including thyroid eye disease, orbital tumors, vascular malformations, facial fracture repair, endoscopic skull base surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery, pioneered new surgical techniques, presented at national and international meetings, and serves as a faculty instructor for the annual Orbital Surgery Master’s Symposium and the Aesthetic Eyelid and Facial Rejuvenation Course at UCLA and the Facial Fat Transfer and Periocular Rejuvenation courses at the Academy of Ophthalmology meetings. He also has a heart for international medical missions, particularly in India. Most importantly, Dr. Ramesh has a compassionate and thoughtful approach to his patients. His goal is to provide an aesthetically pleasing, natural, and long-lasting result, and he is dedicated to honestly discussing all options to design a unique treatment for your needs. When he is not busy operating, he enjoys spending time running, hiking, astrophotography, playing basketball, and spending time with his lovely wife and family, and two pet dogs.
