My name is Samantha Larson, and I am the owner and founder of Glow Up. From a young age, I have been an avid label-reader for everything from food to face masks to laundry detergent. As the years go by and more information becomes available to us, I find myself more and more drawn to the all-natural side of the spectrum when it comes to all of my products. I am 100% that girl with super weird activated-charcoal toothpaste, who uses apple cider vinegar and garlic instead of DayQuil. While a big part of me is an essential oil-loving hippie child, I’m also a little bit boujie. I like to spoil myself and I definitely enjoy the finer things in life. Fortunately, we live in a time where you no longer have to sacrifice the quality of performance for the quality of ingredients. As a licensed esthetician, a product’s all-natural ingredient list isn’t going to be enough for me to use it in the treatment room. I make a personal commitment to make sure that the products I choose to incorporate into my business are not only healthy to use, but also highly effective. Because honestly, what’s the point in a natural product that’s not giving you the results you want? With over a decade of experience in the salon and spa industry, I have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best beauty professionals in Southern California about providing the highest quality service for my clients. After graduating from the Bellus Academy and receiving my esthetician’s license in 2012, I have worked at hotel spas in the heart of the Gaslamp district, the MedSpa environment, and San Diego’s top-rated wellness spa. In March of 2017, I finally decided it was time to take the plunge and become fully self-employed! As a type-A personality (and an Aries at that) no one who knows me was surprised to hear that I wanted to strike out on my own. After all of my years of experience in the industry, I was ready to open a space where I could create exactly the experience that I wanted for my clients. In our fast-paced, high-stress world, it’s truly a privilege for me to provide you with a chance to pamper yourself – to do something that is a treat, rather than just another chore. I have created Glow Up to be an escape where stress, insecurities and frustrations are checked at the door.
