About Ronald G. Verrett, DDS

Ronald G. Verrett, D.D.S., M.S., is currently an associate professor and the assistant program director of the Postdoctoral Advanced Education in Prosthodontics Residency, Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, at the UT Health Science Center. Among his honors, he was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Fraternity. He was recipient of the UT Health Science Center Dental Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Verrett attained both his dental and M.S. degrees from UT Health San Antonio, Dental School in 1979 and 1987 respectively. He continued his postgraduate training with the U.S. Air Force, where he completed a general practice residency at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, which was followed by a prosthodontic residency at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Prior to joining the UT Health Science Center faculty, Dr Verrett served as the Chief of Prosthodontics and Prosthodontics Training Officer of Advanced Education in the General Dentistry Residency program at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. During his active duty service in the Air Force, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medical with First and Second Oak Leaf Clusters. In addition to membership in multiple professional affiliations, Dr. Verrett has served as a consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Verrett's area of research interest includes clinical prosthodontics, sleep disordered breathing, dental implants, dental materials and dental laboratory technology. He has authored numerous papers, abstracts and a textbook chapter, served as a reviewer for the Journal of Prosthodontics and mentored many Master of Science thesis projects. He also participates in an active intramural prosthodontic practice with emphasis on dental implant restorations and comprehensive oral rehabilitation.
