About Rissa Ito, Aesthetician Specialist

While earning my degree at Sacramento State, aside from working in retail, I acquired my massage therapy license. I worked with a wide demographic of people. I enjoyed using my public relation and listening skills in this field of work. It is where my passion grew for the day spa industry. I also worked as a counselor in a home with troubled teenage boys for the organization, Families First, Helping people grow in a positive direction and overcoming obstacles is another strong passion of mine. I received my esthetician license in March of 2004. With that license I was able to then add skin treatments to my work. I loved working with acne clients, educating them and giving them hope and healthier skin. I also loved working with clients to deliver anti-aging results. After starting a family in 2004, I took a break from the day spa industry to raise my children. When my children reached pre-school age I then worked in their classrooms as a teaching assistant. Once my children were in school full time, I re-entered the work force and opened Illuminate, The Beauty Bar. I've been working with clients to achieve healthy skin goals, rejuvenating looks for new phases of life and fresh new starts. I love assisting people in every way that I can to help them achieve their best selves. Owning my own business has enabled me to be present in my children's educational journey. I've been able to work in their classrooms, help with fundraising efforts, and chaperone retreats. I love learning. I love moving forward in progress. I enjoy the journey, with it's ups and downs along the way.
