About Richard J. Shamo, DDS
Rick grew up near Las Vegas in Boulder City, Nevada in the middle of 2 brothers and 3 sisters. After completing high school and his first year of College, he served an LDS mission in Panama City, Panama. While attending BYU in Provo, he met his wife, Janae, while they both worked as chemistry teaching assistants. They have been married for 14 years and have 4 beautiful children. After graduating from BYU, he moved to Los Angeles for dental school at UCLA while Janae taught high school chemistry. They then moved to Connecticut for a combined MD/OMS certificate program at the University of Connecticut. In his free time, Rick enjoys camping, watersports, mountain biking, snowboarding, and playing golf.
