About Richard H. Fryer, MD

Dr. Fryer is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This is the only board certification recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties for cosmetic and plastic surgery. He graduated from the University of Utah with high honors and then completed his medical school training at the same institution. He is a fully trained general surgeon through the University of Arizona. He returned to the University of Utah for a plastic surgery residency and was trained in all aspects of cosmetic and plastic surgery. He was recruited to remain at the University of Utah as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery to help train and instruct cosmetic and plastic surgery residents. During his tenure at the University of Utah he cared for some of the most difficult and challenging plastic surgery cases in the intermountain west. Plastic surgeons from the surrounding area frequently transferred patients to Dr. Fryer for his expert surgical skills and clinical care. He was recognized each year by the hospital administration as one of the University’s best physicians based on patient satisfaction surveys. In 2008 he transitioned to a private plastic surgery clinic and still maintains an association with the University of Utah as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Fryer lives with his family in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, near the mountains and resorts of Alta and Brighton that he knows and loves. He loves spending time outdoors.
