About Richard J. Ferrara, MD
Following in the footsteps of his father, who founded Ferrara Dermatology, Dr. Richard Ferrara, Jr., MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist with an extensive background in general medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr Ferrara is highly experienced in diagnosing and treating skin conditions including skin cancer, acne, psoriasis and eczema. Dr. Ferrara, Jr., is a native of Grosse Pointe and graduated from the University Liggett School. He received his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University with distinction and Wayne State University School of Medicine in the top of his class. He completed both his internship and residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, Michigan Dermatologic Society, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Medical Association. He is the section chief of dermatology at Ascension St. John Hospital and also on staff at Beaumont Hospital. Dr. Ferrara has been an instructor and an advanced level injector through Allergan. Learning and offering the latest techniques in dermatology whether it is new fillers and neuromodulators or laser and radio frequency devices keeps the practice fresh and exciting. Dr. Ferrara was also fortunate to have served on the tribunal overviewing the process which lead to Father Solanus’s beatification.
