About Rhoda S. Narins, MD

Rhoda S. Narins, MD is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University School of Medicine. She graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University, with a BA in Science and received her MD from New York University Medical Center where she also trained as a resident and chief resident in Dermatology. Dr. Narins studied liposuction with Drs. Yves Illouz and Pierre Fournier in Paris. Her research is in the areas of fillers, neurotoxins, liposuctions and lasers. Dr. Narins is the author of over 100 chapters and articles in peer review journals and has published several books. Dr. Rhoda Narins is past president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) and received the prestigious Samuel J. Stegman, MD, Award for Distinguished Service at the 2012 Annual ASDS Meeting. This award honors individuals who have made major contributions in furthering the goals of Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery. For more than 30 years, Dr. Narins has been a generous teacher and mentor to countless dermatologists. She has made several major contributions to the field of dermatology but is perhaps best known for teaching and being a pioneer in liposuction and filler injections. Dr. Narins has given hundreds of lectures nationally and worldwide. In addition to being considered a liposuction and filling pioneer in the United States, Dr. Narins has lectured extensively on Dermatologic Surgery including liposuction, fat transfer, collagen and other fillers, chemical peels, lasers, radiofrequencies and other technologies, sclerotherapy, botulinum toxins, and skin care. She has led 25 research projects has served on the editorial board of several journals and is an Assistant Editor of The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology and Drugs in Dermatology.
