About Rene Bagus, DDS

Dr. Rene Bagus has over 30 years of experience in almost every field of dentistry, ""I've worn all the gowns: the blue lab coat of the dental technician, the green and brown gowns of dental auxiliary, and the white gown as the doctor."" Before immigrating to the United States, he was a dentist in the Philippines for about a year. Upon arriving here in America, he worked as a dental technician and registered dental assistant. At the age of 42, Dr. Bagus was apprehensive to go back to school, but went back into the International Dental Student (IDS) program offered in the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. Before graduating from Pacific, he was offered a position there as a professor, teaching in the prosthetic department. Upon graduation in 2001, he went into work as an associate dentist in Concord, CA. After this, he moved on to work in another private practice in Oakland, CA while continuing to teach at Pacific. Around 2004, Dr. Bagus decided to test new waters by working as an associate dentist in a Las Vegas location. With all the experience under his belt, Dr. Bagus continued to strive and work on opening his own practice. In September 2005, he opened his own private practice here in Alameda, CA. Not only has Dr. Bagus expanded his first hand dentistry, but also continued to move up in his education career as well. He now teaches as a clinical professor at the same school that he once stood in as a student, University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
