About Rachel H. Monteiro, DMD

Dr. Rachel Harris Monteiro is the founder of River Oaks Dental and is a general dentist, providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Monteiro graduated from The Bolles School, and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Florida. She then attended dental school at the University of Louisville, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Monteiro has a true passion for dentistry. If she’s not treating a patient, she’s reading dental journals or taking continuing education courses to be able to provide the best and most up to date care for her patients. She treats patients of all ages-her youngest patients are infants, and her oldest is 103! Dr. Monteiro strives to provide the most relaxing, comfortable, and positive dental experience possible for all patients. She has taken advanced education to safely provide sedation for her patients and is a member of DOCS, a leading organization for dental sedation. She is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, and Guild of Dental Scholars. Dr. Monteiro is married to Marco, who is the co-founder and business manager of River Oaks Dental. They have one child, Noah, and two dogs, Juneau and Periwinkle. As a fifth generation Jacksonville resident, Dr. Monteiro loves her city and actively gives back to her community. She volunteers at Mission of Mercy and Sulzbacher Center to provide dental care to those in need, and is a board member of the River Garden Foundation.
