About Peter Ryg, MD
Peter Ryg, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist at Eye Physicians of Austin, located in Austin, Texas. Dr. Ryg received his undergraduate degree from Brown University. He earned his medical degree with honors from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, Dr. Ryg completed an internship in Washington, DC and a residency at Yale University. After his residency, Dr. Ryg went on to complete the prestigious Proctor Foundation Fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at University of California San Francisco. Dr. Ryg also spent a year performing research at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Ryg provides a wide variety of medical and surgical care including corneal transplants, LASIK, and cosmetic eyelid procedures. When not treating patients, Dr. Ryg enjoys spending time with his young children and partner, Alana, who was born and raised in Austin. As a native Minnesotan, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, fishing, and nature photography.
