About Omar Ghoneim, DDS

Dr. Omar Ghoneim attended the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry. He was a classmate of Dr. Payam Zarai. Following graduation, Dr. Ghoneim completed two years of general practice residency in Chicago. In addition to working at Berkeley Dental Care, Dr. Ghoneim had his own full time practice in Chicago. For the past seven years, Dr. Ghoneim was the Corporate Dental Director for Harbor Health Services Inc, a non profit community health care agency where, in addition to providing direct patient care, he oversaw five dental sites and provided support to dental providers and dental residents. The organization grew immensely during his tenure. Dr. Ghoneim also served as a clinical instructor and adjunct faculty member at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine from 2008-2015. Our Berkeley dentist is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. While in Boston, he attended the state dental society’s Leadership Institute training program, served as a guest board member with the state’s dental society, was a board liaison and served on two state dental society committees. Dr. Ghoneim is a proud member of the Board of Directors for the Hillside-Berkeley Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Ghoneim grew up in Iowa City, Iowa and his wife Ami grew up in Elk Grove Village. Dr. Ghoneim, Ami and their two children, four year old Mahri and two year old Lila, are excited about returning back home to the Midwest. Dr. Ghoneim is an accomplished and dedicated dental professional with a kind and gentle chairside manner.
