About Nicholas Dovey, DMD
Dr. Nicholas ""Nick"" Dovey proudly serves his community as the primary dentist of Finest City Dental. Treating patients all across the greater San Diego, CA area, Dr. Dovey is dedicated to the long-term service of each member of his dental family, which consists of the many men, women, and children who place their oral health in his capable hands. He has devoted the past decade of his life to pursuing his passion for dentistry by studying modern techniques and excelling in every facet of the industry. With a focus on general and restorative dental care, Dr. Dovey has demonstrated an exceptional work ethic throughout his impressive academic and professional career. Seizing the opportunity to learn and grow every day, Dr. Dovey sets himself apart from his peers with his impressive academic accomplishments and commitment to lifelong patient care. Prior to earning his doctoral degree from the Western University College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Dovey initially set his career in motion along a different path. He graduated from the University of California in Santa Barbara with honors, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology. From there, he spent several years making a name for himself in the sales and marketing industry. It was during this time that he realized his passion for dental care and promptly acted upon it. He served as a community outreach volunteer for a pediatric dentistry practice before enrolling in dental school. While at dental school, Dr. Dovey worked hard, excelled in his studies, and was even inducted into the prestigious national dental honor society, OKU. He achieved Dean's List recognition three years in a row and earned the Dean's Award for exhibiting outstanding leadership, professionalism, and community service during his remarkable tenure in school. An advocate of continuing education, Dr. Dovey has further expanded his wide breadth of techniques and skills by attending numerous post-doctoral classes, seminars, and presentations. Specializing in comprehensive general dental care, Dr. Dovey is well-trained in several areas of modern dental care, such as restorative, endodontic, pediatric, cosmetic, and digital dentistry. The most popular treatments he and his skilled team offer at Finest City Dental are dental crowns, porcelain veneers, dental bridges, dental implants, root canals, scaling and root planing, and periodontal (gum) treatment. In addition to these procedures, Dr. Dovey is also a trusted provider of Invisalign. Committed to only using the latest and greatest in dental materials and technology, Dr. Dovey is also trained in the use of the CEREC 3D Restorative System. As his career continues to flourish, Dr. Dovey is increasingly becoming well-known for his proficiency in providing stunning work with dental implants and other restorations, such as dentures, crowns, and bridges. When he’s not hard at work in the office, Dr. Dovey spends precious time with his wife, Emily, and two young daughters. He also enjoys woodworking and snowboarding, and he often competes in triathlons whenever possible. Dr. Dovey and his wife recently moved back to San Diego from Fullerton to be closer to loved ones. Their little family is thrilled to be a part of this community once more.
