About Neal N. Sakwa, MD

Dr. Neal Sakwa is a fully trained plastic surgeon who has been in practice for over 25 years. He did all his training at the world renowned New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. While at Cornell he had the honor of serving as Chief Resident. In his early years much of his time was devoted to reconstructive surgery on cancer patients. In the past 20 years however, Dr. Sakwa has dedicated himself to perfecting the art of aesthetic procedures of the face, eyelids, nose, breast and body. While living and practicing in New York for many years, he worked as a partner, side by side, with one of the most acclaimed plastic surgeons in the world. While there he had the opportunity to perform surgery on many famous actors and actresses, television personalities, models and high level politicians. Since relocating to Michigan Dr. Sakwa has continued to work on high profile patients including anchor men and women, newscasters and models as well as many others of all ages and from all walks of life. He is especially proud of the fact that he is often the first choice of other doctors to do work on them and their families, as well as of numerous hospital staff nurses who work with many plastic surgeons, but choose him. Dr. Sakwa's philosophy is very simple. He is dedicated to giving each patient the most natural looking result with the shortest recovery time possible. He specializes in the most innovative and technologically advanced procedures available today in aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Sakwa performs every procedure by himself in its entirety. He always works closely with an accredited anesthesiologist, in a hospital setting, to ensure the safety of every patient. In addition, it is important to know that the doctor is honest with each patient. The most common problem he sees are patients who have done too much. If he advises against doing a procedure, he feels strongly enough about it to turn down a potential fee. He will fully explain to you the benefits as well as the risks, possible complications, and recovery of every procedure. For Dr. Sakwa to perform a surgical procedure on a patient the benefit must outweigh the expense, risk and recovery. For many patients non surgical alternatives are desirable. Dr. Sakwa is equally experienced in these techniques and offers a full menu of injectables such as Botox, Dysport, Restylane, Juvaderm, Radiesse and others. In spite of what you may hear from friends, or read about online or in the latest magazine, there are no secret techniques or procedures that only one plastic surgeon knows how to do. Results are dependent on the surgeon you choose to perform your operation. The most important difference between plastic surgeons is aesthetic judgment- what and how much to do, and what not to do. If a new laser, fat reduction technique, or wrinkle removing procedure sounds too good to be true, it is. Finally, Dr. Sakwa prides himself on providing excellent personal care to each and every patient from beginning to end. He is personally available to all post-operative patients 24 hours a day and every patient is provided with both his home and cell telephone numbers. We hope you will take the time to review Dr. Sakwa's photographs as we feel his work speaks for itself.
