About Nancy Nehawandian, DDS
Dr. Nancy Nehawandian has taken over 2,700 hours of continuing education, passed several exams in various disciplines as a cosmetic dentist in order to earn a mastership and four fellowships. She has been recognized by other cosmetic dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. When a cosmetic dentist has achieved Mastership and fellowship Awards, patients can be assured that their cosmetic dentist is dedicated to providing the finest care in both cosmetic and general dentistry. But a skilled cosmetic dentist also needs a strong foundation in general dentistry. In 2006, Dr. Nancy Nehawandian was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), placing her among only 7% of dentists in the country who have earned the distinction. A “Fellow” in the FAGD is recognized by other general dentists as a leader who highlights the importance of quality continuing dental education. Dr. Nehawandian also followed up her AGD fellowship with a Mastership in 2015! Placing her among only 1% of dentists in the United States. A general dentist who has earned the designation “Master” of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) has completed a structured and demanding set of requirements involving all 16 dental disciplines.This accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence. Masters serve as mentors and leaders to other dentists pursuing continuing dental education. They set examples in their communities with their hard work, concern and involvement. A cosmetic dentist should be skilled in performing dental implant procedures, since that is the highest development of cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Nehawandian was also awarded a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). To achieve this status, a dentist must document their successful dental implant cases, complete a minimum of 75 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry, submit a letter of reference from another ICOI fellow, and complete an additional 75 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry with 5 years of receiving the fellowship.
