About Monika Kaniszewska, MD

Dr. Monika Kaniszewska is a board-certified dermatologist who joined the Advanced Dermatology team in March of 2018. She was born in Poland but grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. She then went on to complete a Master of Science degree at Northwestern University, also with a concentration on biomedical engineering. After attending Rush Medical College, Dr. Kaniszewska completed her internship at Resurrection Medical Center. Her dermatology training was completed at Loyola University Medical Center, where she was selected to serve as co-chief resident. Dr. Kaniszewska has been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. In addition, she has presented her work at national and local meetings. She is active in volunteerism through participation in skin cancer screenings for the American Academy of dermatology as well as educational outreach programs through the Women’s Dermatologic Society. Dr. Kaniszewska also traveled to Cochabamba, Bolivia on a medical mission trip where she provided dermatologic evaluation and treatment to their underserved residents. Dr. Kaniszewska’s interests include cutaneous oncology, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema, as well as complex medical dermatologic conditions. Dr. Kaniszewska has training in medical, surgical, and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and backgrounds. Dr. Kaniszewska is also fluent in Polish.
