Oncologic reconstruction and reconstructive microsurgery; breast reconstruction including implant based and flap reconstruction (latissimus flap, muscle sparing free TRAM flap, DIEP flap); head and neck reconstruction; trunk reconstruction including chest wall, abdominal wall, pelvic/perineum/vaginal reconstruction; extremity reconstruction; reconstruction after removal of melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer, and sarcoma; surgical treatment of lymphedema. Ever since I started on this pathway to medicine, I knew I wanted to be a plastic surgeon. But there was something about reconstructive surgery that drew me specifically. I saw not only the creativity that is involved in restoring patients appearance and function, but also the impact it has on our patients lives. At Fox Chase, we offer the full spectrum of reconstructive surgery including microsurgical options for breast reconstruction, such as the DIEP flap, head and neck cancer, skin cancer, and many other parts of the body. I have had training in all aspects of plastic surgery including breast, head and neck, burn, trauma, lower extremity, chronic wounds, cosmetics and hand surgery to help produce the most optimal outcomes for my patients. I believe patients should play an active role in their reconstruction and it is important to me to take time to make sure the patient understands all aspects of these sometimes complex procedures. I want to make sure patients understand the entire surgical journey they are about to go on and what to expect each step of the way. The care at Fox Chase is unparalleled. I am also interested in optimizing outcomes for breast reconstruction patients including using narcotic and opioid minimizing pain control after surgery.
