About Michael J. Mckim, DDS
Dr. McKim left for college with the intention of becoming an engineer. After a year his realized that his love for the biological sciences were in the forefront and he missed that area of learning. It was not long after he changed direction and pursued a career in dentistry. To him restoring a broken or decayed tooth is engineering, you rebuild on a smaller scale! The challenge and attention to detail each time he finds most fulfilling Dr. McKim became acquainted with the local area when he received his degree in Dental Laboratory Technology from Diablo Valley College. He continued his undergraduate education at University of Nevada Reno and in 1992 he graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Indiana University. He received numerous awards upon graduation, and is most proud of the “Dentist- Dentist” award. This honor was bestowed upon him by his classmates as the dentist they would chose for their personal dental treatment. When away from the office you can find Dr. McKim partaking in numerous sports. Perfecting his golf game or finding a snowy slope for his ski’s are two of his top favorites. He and his family enjoy traveling each year. Hawaii and Mexico offer them the outdoors, sand, surf and great local flavors. Dr. McKim is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Southern Alameda County Dental Society. He attends continuing education courses nationwide, allowing him to stay current with all the newest dental information and techniques. Dr. McKim strives everyday to stay on time, treat people with kindness, and to have his patients leave with a smile.
