About Meghan Toland, DMD
Dr. Toland was born and raised just north of Boston, Massachusetts. She decided she wanted to be a dentist when she was in middle school after a great experience with her orthodontist. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Boston College, she fulfilled her dream of attending the esteemed Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After graduating dental school in 2012, she completed an Advanced Residency in General Dentistry at the Togus VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, Maine. She enjoyed her experience there so much that she stayed on for an additional year and worked as a staff dentist. Dr. Toland met her husband, Mike, in dental school and she moved with him to San Diego in 2014 when his naval orders brought him here. They both love the San Diego lifestyle and enjoy bike riding, kayaking, trying new restaurants, and hanging out at the beach. They are also avid travelers and have been to many places in the US and around the globe including Central America, Asia, Europe, and Australia. Dr. Toland enjoys volunteering at the Homeless Veterans Stand Down which aims to provide basic dental services to homeless veterans. She also volunteers her time teaching a pre-dental course at SDSU, and takes part in the Dental Lifeline Network, donating her services to qualifying patients in need. Dr. Toland values keeping up with the latest technology and research in dentistry and therefore spends many hours each year attending continuing education courses. She is always looking to expand her knowledge and skills to better treat her patients. Dr. Toland strives to provide comprehensive, quality, and gentle treatment to every patient, using the latest state-of-the-art equipment. Clear and easy-to-understand dental education is very important so that you can make well-informed decisions about your dental health. Dr. Toland understands that every patient is unique and therefore every effort is made to customize treatment to fulfill your specific needs and desires. Her goal is to work together to achieve and maintain the healthy and beautiful smile that you deserve.
