About Medhat Dawoud, DMD
Dr. Dawoud is the proud owner of D&G Dental and a highly-skilled dentist dedicated to providing gentle and effective care for patients of all ages. He opened D&G Dental in 2012 due to the growing demand for cosmetic and implant dentistry in the area. After practicing dentistry for the past 11 years primarily in Jersey City, NJ, Dr. Dawoud is now ready to serve the Essex County area where he is a resident himself. Dr. Dawoud actually comes from a family of medicine. His father was a surgeon, and among other family members, you’ll find chiropractors, physicians and dentists as well. He was also drawn to dentistry because as a child, he himself needed braces and quite a bit of dental work, and this made him very self-conscious about his teeth growing up. However, after everything was completed, he felt truly confident about his smile, and it allowed his personality to blossom. He wanted to be able to do that for other people, which eventually led him to enroll in dental school. A graduate of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Dawoud achieved his degrees in a field that he is passionate about. He believes that excellent oral health begins with education and prevention and has made it his mission to enlighten patients about how they can take greater control of their own dental health. Today, Dr. Dawoud continues to expand his knowledge by attending dental seminars held throughout the world by his top peers. Because of this, he has found a niche in performing full-mouth reconstructions and applying cosmetic dentistry to each procedure. He is a certified Invisalign Provider and has successfully performed many difficult Invisalign cases. He is also certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique, minimally invasive, scalpel-free periodontal procedure that can correct gum recession and provide instant health and cosmetic benefits. Additionally, he has also spent time with Sleep Group Solutions to study dental treatments that can help patients overcome sleep apnea and even stop snoring using custom-made oral appliances. Dr. Dawoud has a Fellowship with the prestigious International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), which enables him to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the growing field of dental implants. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Essex County Dental Association.
