About Leila H. Ghafouri, DDS

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Lienau has entrusted me with taking over his dental practice. As of the new year, I will have the honor of continuing to provide Dr. Chris Lienau’s patients with the same standard of excellent care that he has provided for so many years. In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to meeting all of the patients and getting to know each of you individually. Until then, I wanted to share with you some information about myself so that you have a better sense of who I am, my passion for dentistry, and my commitment to providing you with the highest quality of dental care. I was raised in Houston, Texas, where at the ripe age of 8, I had already decided that I wanted to be a dentist. There was something about the art of dentistry that appealed to me even as a child. I attended The High School for Health Professions and started volunteering and working in dental offices by the time I was 15. Even more convinced that dentistry was my desired profession, I pursued a competitive fast track to dental school, obtaining a B.S. in Zoology from Texas A&M University and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio in a combined seven years. After graduation in 1997, I moved back to Houston and practiced there for several years before moving to Phoenix in 2002. Phoenix quickly grew on me. It had the same southern hospitality that I had come to appreciate in Texas, but without the humidity! Once my two daughters Misha (8) and Tara (4) were born, I knew that we were here to stay. Last year we also added another member to our family: a very playful Cavachon puppy named Baily. When not spending time with my family or practicing dentistry, I enjoy running, skiing, cooking, traveling and photography. Since moving to Arizona, I have had the honor of practicing dentistry with some of the best private and group practices in the greater Phoenix area, Goodyear and Scottsdale. Through my combined 16 years of practice, I have gained invaluable knowledge that will help me give the best care possible to my patients. In the past, my patients have described me as gentle, caring and with a keen interest in involving and educating them about their dental health. My passion for dentistry also means that I value the importance of staying informed of the latest technologies and advances in the practice. Once my youngest daughter started preschool this year, I started searching for the perfect practice to call my own. I feel very blessed to have found Dr. Chris’s practice and to be joining such an amazing staff. I hope to be sharing many milestones with you, just as they have for almost three generations. I offer you my commitment to providing you the highest quality of dentistry and excellent patient care that you deserve and expect. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
