About Laura E. Skeen, Aesthetician Specialist
30 year old Master Esthetician and Entrepreneur, Laura Elizabeth Skeen, founded Lighthouse Esthetics, Inc. in 2016 . Laura is native to Charlotte and has been practicing as a licensed Esthetician in the state of North Carolina for a little over 10 years. In her teens she struggled with acne issues. On many levels, Laura related to young girls and women who found it tough to view their reflection in a mirror at any given moment. In her early 20's, she tried tons of different skincare products, dermatologists, and spent thousands on facials, prescriptions, and subscriptions to skincare blogs, searching for a solid solution.... and nothing seemed to work. After looking back on years of trial and error; Laura came to the conclusion that it was going to take a lifestyle change to reach her skin goals. She decided it was time to get to the bottom of the problem once and for all; by mastering the art and science of skincare. In 2009, Laura enrolled in the Aveda Institute of Charlotte where she studied and earned her degree in Esthiology and Massage Therapy. She quickly moved on to develop her career portfolio by working under dermatologists, medical spas, and plastic surgeons with the goal of gaining hands-on experience from a clinical perspective. By means of specified esthiological methods combined with state of the art medical grade technology, Laura began to construct her Company model. "You don't have to be a doctor to purchase medical grade skincare equipment, but you do have to know how to use it, and be able to show that you've been trained to do it right." She is certified in NeurotriS Microcurrent, Rejuvapen Microneedling, Diamond Microdermabrasion, DPL Infrared Lighting, and Dermaplaning.
