About Kira Mayo, MD
Dr. Mayo is a board-certified dermatologist and ACGME Fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, with specialized training and expertise in treating high-risk skin cancer. Dr. Mayo joined Universal Dermatology in September 2016, upon completing her ACGME procedural dermatology fellowship, with advanced training in melanoma and cutaneous surgery and oncology at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her focus is on Mohs surgery and associated reconstruction, as well as skin exams and excisions of cancerous and non-cancerous skin tumors. Dr. Mayo received her undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Virginia. She completed in internship in Internal Medicine at Greenwich Hospital before completing her dermatology residency at the University of Rochester, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Mayo was born and raised in New York City and is married to a native Fairpotarian. She has twin girls, as well as a twin sister. She enjoys anything that involves the outdoors, playing and watching sports and spending time with her family.
