About Kevin L. Kohler, DDS
Inspired by his paternal grandfather, who practiced dentistry for over forty years, Dr. Kohler is dedicated to the practice of dentistry and strives to provide exceptional care to his patients. Whether it’s spending extra time to make sure the patient is well-informed or a post-op personal phone call, Dr. Kohler makes patient experience a top priority. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University he then attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors in oral surgery. Although he brings to the practice experience in all phases of dentistry, he has taken a particular interest in more advanced oral surgery procedures such as implant surgery and cosmetic smile makeover dentistry. Dr. Kohler is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the Academy of General Dentistry which keeps him up-to-date on the latest treatment advances. He is also a certified Invisalign orthodontic treatment provider. Dr. Kohler is a life-long learner and is committed to continuing his education by attending conferences and courses where he receives extensive training and remains up-to-date. He also attends dental study clubs to further his learning. It is important to Dr. Kohler to stay active in the dental community and give back. He is a Clinical Faculty Instructor at UCSD School of Medicine Dental Clinic where he educates pre-dental students and provides free dental services to those in need. He also has served mission trips to Brazil to provide free dental services and speaks Portuguese and Spanish fluently. He is a member of many prestigious organizations including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society and the Northwestern Medical and Dental Association. Dr. Kohler was born and raised in Poway, Calif. His family–wife, Jane and two sons and daughter–is what matters most to him. Family trips, adventure motorcycle riding, reading a good book and anything outdoors in our beautiful San Diego weather are his most enjoyed activities outside the dental practice.
