About Kent S. Aftergut, MD

Kent Aftergut, MD board-certified dermatologist and native Texan, Dr. Kent Aftergut owns and operates Dermatology Consultants of North Dallas at Medical City and Dermatology Associates of Uptown at Cedar Hill. He is a former Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology teaching the residents at Parkland Hospital for nine years, and served as president and vice president of the Dallas Dermatologic Society. Dr. Aftergut has routinely been named a top dermatologist by D Magazine in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Dr. Aftergut was selected for inclusion on the 2017 Texas Super Doctors list from 2014 to present and he has earned 2017 Texas Super Doctors Hall of Fame status for being nominated more than 10 years running. He has also been featured on CNN, in the New York Times, the Associated Press and Dallas Morning News, just to name a few. Dr. Aftergut graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas. He attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where he graduated with honors and membership in the honorary medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Aftergut completed an internship in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas prior to completing his residency in dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology. Dr. Aftergut’s professional interests include infectious diseases, psoriasis, eczema and rashes, skin cancer screenings, detection and treatment, and surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
