About Kenneth J. Hyde, MD

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Hyde trained in California and New York before going tri-coastal and moving to Houston. His medical school training and ophthalmology residency were at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. His fellowship training in Eyelid, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery was obtained at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Lured by the wonderful climate and friendly natives, he moved to Houston in 1988. For four years, he was affiliated with the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas-Houston. From 1992 to 2000, Dr. Hyde was in solo private practice in Houston as an Oculoplastic Surgeon. In 2000, Dr. Hyde joined the Houston Eye Associates to expand the Eyelid, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery section. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a fellow in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hyde celebrates over two decades of working as an ophthalmologist in the oculoplastics subspecialty – treating diseases of the eyelids, lacrimal system (tear ducts) and orbit (the tissue around and behind the eye) in patients with ages ranging from infancy to maturity. Dr. Hyde feels that a surgical practice that includes both cosmetic and functional surgery helps maintain a healthy perspective when striving to help people to see better as well as look better. In additional to his medical practice, Dr. Hyde has some very ‘Texan’ extra-curricular interests such as raising cattle, photographing obscure local wildflowers and tending to his pecan orchard.
