About Julie P. Shtraks, MD

Julie Shtraks is a Beverly Hills trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face, neck, nose, eyelids, and eyebrows. After growing up in the Philadelphia suburbs, Dr. Shtraks completed her undergraduate education with a major in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She then earned her Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During her medical training, she traveled to Tel Aviv, Israel where she studied under Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. While in medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She then went on to complete a rigorous 5-year Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residency program at Temple University Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center and served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Shtraks completed an accredited American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship with world-renowned surgeons Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. Babak Azizzadeh in Beverly Hills, California. She also acted as an attending surgeon at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. While there, she gained expertise in primary and revision rhinoplasty, face and neck lift, eyelid, and eyebrow surgery. Dr. Shtraks gained extensive experience in surgical and non-surgical treatments for facial paralysis while working at the Facial Paralysis Institute. She also studied under some of the world’s leading oculoplastic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologists while in Beverly Hills. She has extensive training in non-surgical treatments including Botox, fillers, lasers, skin tightening technologies, and hair restoration. Dr. Shtraks has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters and has presented her work at medical meetings across the country. Outside of her passion for patient care and research, Dr. Shtraks most enjoys spending time with her husband Alex and daughter Nora, her family and friends, and traveling. Dr. Shtraks strives to provide the highest quality patient care, focusing on the individual patient’s needs to create a natural, youthful appearance to enhance the patient’s own beauty.
