About Julie B. Ritchie, MD
I grew up in San Diego and am happy to return to my hometown to practice dermatology . I went to college at UC Santa Barbara, where I graduated with high honors with a degree in cellular and developmental biology and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. I then attended medical school at USC, graduating with honors and as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. I stayed in Los Angeles to complete an internship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. I did leave sunny Southern California to complete my residency training in dermatology at the University of Iowa. There I learned from leaders in the fields of complex medical and surgical dermatology. As a board certified dermatologist , I enjoy treating a wide range of skin diseases. No matter what your stage of life or skin concerns, I welcome you to my practice. I like to look at the whole health of my patients and work with them to come up with the best plan for their skin conditions. I find variety truly is the spice of life. You can find me doing activities ranging from running and gardening to surfing and yoga. I like to travel and explore new places and be exposed to different cultures and cuisines. Most importantly, I like to share these activities with my family and friends.
