About Jorge Ramos, DMD
Dr. Jorge Ramos, DMD earned his dentistry degree from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Camaguey, Cuba (now known as the Medical University of Camaguey) in 1989. Dr. Ramos worked as a general dentist in his hometown from 1989 to 2004. He also completed a 4-year specialization in biochemistry which awarded him a position as a full-time faculty of biochemistry in the School of Dentistry of the Medical University of Camaguey from 1993 to 2001. During that time he also taught community dentistry. In 2004, Dr. Ramos immigrated into the United States and has lived in Miami, Florida ever since. For the first two years in this city, Dr. Ramos had several part-time jobs to support his family and pursue his dream of earning a dental degree in this country. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a dental assistant in the Dental Center at Baptist Hospital and as an adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University from 2007 to 2008. In 2008, he was admitted in the 3-year international program for foreign graduate dentists in Nova Southeastern University where he graduated in 2011. While he was completing his requirements for graduation, Dr. Ramos worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Cariology and Restorative Dentistry and proctored students in local anesthesia.
