He has served as a member of the editorial team of Reality, a publication of the Esthetic Dentistry Research Group, and a Consulting Editor for Cosmetic Dentistry for the GP and Cosmetic Dentistry Update. As a result of his contributions to the furtherance of cosmetic dentistry and his achievements as a cosmetic dentist serving the Main Line, Dr. Scharf has been acknowledged in several prominent publications. He was included in Who’s Who in Medicine in 1990, Who’s Who Among Outstanding Americansin 1994, and Who’s Who in Dentistry in 1995. Dentistry Today, a periodical for dental professionals, selected Dr. Scharf as one of the top one hundred lecturers in dentistry in the United States. Dr. Scharf was voted by his peers as “Best of the Main Line,” as featured in Main Line Today. He has likewise been selected by his peers to be in the Best Dentists in America for 2004-2005 and was recently accepted into America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals as a lifetime member.
