Testimonials

Dr. John Troccoli gave excellent care and attention to my problem and took care of it. —Evette J., Surgical Excision of a Mole
Although I requested an emergency appt, Dr. Troccoli was very thorough, soft-spoken, and very concerned about my skin condition. I didn’t feel rushed at all, quite the opposite. I would certainly recommend Dr. Troccoli. In fact, my husband will be seeing him too! —Iris F., Fraxel Repair

Frequently Asked Questions

What methods will help clear my Acne Scars?

There have been many advances in dermatology to treat acne scarring; these treatments should be done by a board certified dermatologist and cannot be done at home. Some of the most effective methods are microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, and chemical peels. These will help resurface the epidermis layer, removing acne scars. Laser resurfacing even promotes collagen growth from the dermis layer, treating the scarring from within. Even more severe cases may require surgical measures such as skin grafts and tissue fillers. Each case is different, so treatment plans are highly customized to each patient’s skin type and the severity of the scarring. A consultation with our dermatologists at Advanced Dermatology will help determine what treatment plan will best address your concerns.

When can I expect to see results after Kybella?

Patients will begin to see results a few weeks after their initial treatment. Patients can expect to see some bruising, redness, and swelling for up to a week, as the fat cells begin melting away. While Kybella has been proven to permanently reduce the fat cells in the chin area, proper weight management is necessary to maintain the results of the procedure. Excessive weight gain can make the treatment area appear to be fuller, while aging can make both the chin and neck area loose.

What injectable ingredients are best for me when getting Lip Injections?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body, especially in the skin tissue. The basic function of hyaluronic acid is to cushion different parts of the body, hydrate the skin, and fill in the area around the eyes. Some brand names of injectable fillers that are made with hyaluronic acid include Restylane, Juvederm, and Belotero. Your dermatologist will be able to tell you which kind of filler will work best for you. There are other filler options that do not use hyaluronic acid such as Radiesse, which uses calcium hydroxylapatite – another natural component found in the body. Like other injectables, Radiesse fills in the lines on and around the mouth. Filler treatments usually take around 10-15 minutes, with results lasting anywhere from three months to one year depending on the filler. Side effects of fillers are minimal and include redness, swelling and bruising at the site of injection for a brief time after the treatment.

Is Botox safe to use?

Yes it is safe. Botox has been in use since its FDA approval in 2002 for the treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Since its approval over 11 million people have used Botox.

Can Volbella correct vertical lip lines?

Volbella can correct several different lip concerns, making it the perfect choice for almost every type of patient. All the different treatment types will be explained by the doctor, who will then make recommendations based on the patient’s symptoms and desired results. Volbella is used for all of the following lip concerns: Vertical Lip Lines – often called “smoker’s lines” or “water bottle” lips, these are caused by sun damage or repetitive gestures over time Lip Outline Contouring – forming a new outline for the lips, creating a curvier shape without projecting them forward Lip Augmentation – injection directly into the lips to create a fuller, “poutier” appearance.
