About John F. Shega, MD
Dr. John F. Shega is a board-certified dermatologist in San Diego. He received his specialized training in the treatment and diagnosis of complexion problems, as well as skin, hair, and nail diseases at Balboa Hospital, San Diego, and St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin, London. He is trained in a wide range of surgical techniques, including a special technique for the total removal of skin cancer and reconstruction of the surgical site in a cosmetic fashion. Dr. Shega also specializes in laser surgery and environmental and occupational skin diseases and has a special interest in cosmetic surgery. He is a member of the College of Emergency Medicine Physicians and practiced emergency medicine for over 14 years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
