Dr. Self has over 25 years of experience with Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He truly cares about his patients’ well being, both physically and emotionally. He takes the time to ensure every patient is happy with the full surgical procedure, from beginning to the end. What really sets him apart from others is his dedication to perfection. While some surgeons pride themselves on how quickly they can finish a procedure, Dr. Self prides himself on taking all the time that is necessary to do the job right. His philosophy involves taking the most thorough pre-operative, operative, and post-operative procedural approach, which keeps his patients happy and attracts patients from all over the country. In 2005, Dr. Self opened his private practice for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Salt Lake City after practicing in Alabama for over 10 years. His specialties include breast surgery, body contouring, tummy tucks, liposuction, surgery after massive weight loss, facial aesthetic surgery, eyelids, and minimally invasive facial surgery. Dr. Self’s attention to detail, personal approach, and exceptional office staff has Utahns and out-of-staters flocking to his practice. “Our practice continues to grow dramatically because our satisfied patients recommend us to their family and friends,” he says. Dr. Self has an unusually broad blend of training and experience that uniquely qualifies him to understand the relationship between the skeleton, soft tissue, and skin, and how they work together in both a functional and aesthetic sense. He graduated from the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine and completed training in general surgery as well as plastic surgery at the Mayo Graduate School Of Medicine in Minnesota. Dr. Self has a long list of certifications, memberships, committee chairs, and has been published in several books.
