About John Schmid, DDS

Dr. John Schmid opened Contemporary Cosmetic Dentistry in 2001 after spending nearly a decade in a busy, insurance-driven dental practice. With the goal of offering individual attention to each of his patients, Dr. Schmid has created a patient-focused, personalized practice that is centered around providing exceptional services intended to address all of your smile's needs. Our office is equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology to ensure the most effective treatments possible, all while maintaining an open, comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Schmid is pleased to offer free consultations to new patients, enabling you a better opportunity to see first-hand what his passion, commitment, and experience can do for your smile. Dr. Schmid received his Bachelor of Science degree from Angelo State University in Angelo, Texas. Remaining in the Lone Star State, Dr. Schmid continued his education, receiving his Doctorate in Dental Science (DDS) from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. From there, he went on to study Advanced Anterior Aesthetics, Comprehensive Aesthetic Reconstruction, Neuromuscular Occlusion, Full Mouth Reconstruction, and Neuromuscular Coronoplasty at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Schmid has lived in Austin for 15 years and is proud to be raising his children Molly, Lola, and Joaquin in our lovely city. Dr. Schmid strongly believes in community involvement and, in the spirit of Austin, has volunteered at the Manos de Cristo Dental Clinic, a full-service dental clinic that serves the needs of the underprivileged members of our city.
