About John A. Ebner, DO
Dr. John A. Ebner graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Arizona with his Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Chemistry in 1995. He then went on to earn a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Riverside. His primary interests in graduate school were cancer biology and infectious disease. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Midwestern University – Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, graduating in the top 1% of his class. While in medical school, Dr. Ebner was selected for a scholarship as a Fellow of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He then completed a combined Dermatology Residency and Research Fellowship at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2008. His research focused on the molecular signaling involved in the progression of squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. Dr. Ebner is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Arizona. Dr. Ebner strives for excellence in building relationships and caring for his patients. He has a thorough, individualized approach and enjoys treating people of all ages. His training and interests are comprehensive and include general medical dermatology, skin cancer evaluation, Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer, laser and light therapy, cutaneous oncology and surgery, pediatric dermatology, and cosmetic surgery. He has expertise in a wide array of skin diseases both common and rare, including skin cancer, psoriasis, moles, eczema, acne, rosacea, oral diseases, autoimmune blistering diseases, cutaneous lymphoma, lupus, lichen planus, skin manifestations of internal disease and genetic skin diseases. Dr. Ebner is an educational speaker, both locally and nationally, on issues of dermatology and healthcare. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and presented his work at national dermatology meetings. He has also authored several chapters in dermatology textbooks. Dr. Ebner was born and raised in the arid climate of Saudi Arabia and was naturally drawn to Arizona and the desert southwest. He has lived in Arizona since 1991. He enjoys spending time with his family and all things outdoor including camping, fishing, and hiking.
