About John T. Cozzone, MD

Dr. John T. Cozzone, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 25 years of expertise. He has been the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Saint Joseph Wayne Hospital in Wayne N.J. since 2001. He has performed thousands of breast, body and facial cosmetic procedures. Liposuction and a full range of breast procedures—including breast augmentation, breast reduction and breast lifting—have been a special focus of his career in plastic surgery. Dr. Cozzone is also highly adept at performing body remodeling procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery). Known for his exceptional, natural-looking results and commitment to personalized care from the first consultation to the last post-operative visit, Dr. Cozzone is highly recommended by his former patients. Dr. John T. A New Jersey native, Dr. Cozzone graduated from the College of Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. With a passion for medicine, he immediately traveled to Italy and earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the renowned University of Rome. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Cozzone completed training in general surgery at Jersey City Medical Center where his expertise and commitment to patient care ultimately earned him the Chief Resident position. After spending five years at Jersey City Medical Center, Dr. Cozzone developed an interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 1985, Dr. Cozzone completed his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Ohio State University where he served as Clinical Professor of Surgery for two years. While at Ohio State, Dr. Cozzone studied under a past president of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Cozzone then returned to New Jersey to establish his own practice. Shortly thereafter, he became one of the first American surgeons trained in the art of liposuction.
