About Jessica West, DO

Dr. Jessica West is the new Medical Director at the award-winning Michigan Center for Cosmetic Surgery. She completed her extensive training in full body cosmetic surgery in southern California, where she was trained under some of the highest cosmetic standards in the country and learned the most up to date techniques in aesthetic surgery.She is excited to bring her specialized training in full body, breast, and facial cosmetic surgery back to her native state of Michigan. Dr. West is double board certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr West completed her residency training in Otolaryngology & Facial Plastic Surgery at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Michigan. During that time, she trained at several hospitals in the greater Detroit area, where she was exposed to full body cosmetic surgery and developed her passion for the field. She then decided to pursue a highly sought after fellowship in full body cosmetic surgery with Dr. Jacob Haiavy, past president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, in the Greater Los Angeles area. Dr. West completed her undergraduate education at Michigan State University, where she graduated Cum Laude from the Honors College. As a driven individual, she earned two separate undergraduate degrees during her time at Michigan State University (a Bachelors of Science degree in both Human Biology and Psychology), in addition to a specialization in Bioethics. She was part of several honors societies, most notably the distinguished Tower Guard organization (a student-led volunteer service for people with disabilities), where only the top 5% of MSU students are invited to apply. She continued on to complete her medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, MI, where she performed consistently at the top of her class. Dr. West is a Clinical Instructor for the Department of Surgical Specialties at Michigan State University. She also serves on the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery fellowship committee, which is committed to upholding the highest standards for education and training for the AACS general cosmetic surgery fellowship programs. Her professional affiliations include: the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, the Michigan State Medical Society. Dr. West is enthusiastic about the field of cosmetic surgery. She is known for her strong attention to detail, artistic eye, and honest expert opinion in regards to both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. She enjoys providing her patients with an individualized approach to their personal cosmetic needs. She strives to make patients feel comfortable throughout their entire aesthetic journey, by taking the time to answer questions, respond to concerns, and educate patients on all options available to achieve their best outcome.
