About Jennifer L. Rhodes, MD
Jennifer L. Rhodes, M.D. specializes in pediatric plastic surgery. The medical director for the Center for Craniofacial Care of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and the VCU Vascular Birthmark Clinic, Dr. Rhodes is also co-director of the VCU Infant Skull Anomalies Clinic. Dr. Rhodes received her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania and completed her general surgery residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, a division of New York Medical College. She completed her plastic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, part of Albert Einstein School of Medicine and earned a fellowship in pediatric and craniofacial surgery from Dr. Jeffrey A. Fearon at the Craniofacial Center in Dallas, Texas. In 2012, Dr. Rhodes served on the 45-member surgical team responsible for the successful separation of conjoined twins from the Dominican Republic. The groundbreaking surgery, sponsored by World Pediatric Project through VCU Medical Center, was featured in a Discovery Channel special program. Board certified in both general and plastic surgery, Dr. Rhodes is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American Cleft Palate–Craniofacial Association. She has lived in Richmond since 2008.
